Courtesy Letter Tab:
The Courtesy Letter is a personalized report that is meant to be sent to the patient's family doctor as a professional courtesy. On the Courtesy Letter Tab within an appointment is where the report is configured and generated for a specific patient/appointment. It includes their recommended drugs along with customizable sections: patient presentation, action plan & comments (if present). This report can also serve as a marketing piece because it lets the family doctor know of your additional services, specifically that you offer travel consultations, other vaccinations or specific health clinics.
Turning the Courtesy Letter On / Off:
The Courtesy Letter can be turned on or off per service line.
> Go to the Setup menu > Service Line Setup > Click into any Service Line > Go to the Reports tab.
> Click the 'Edit Defaults' link beside Courtesy Letter.
> There is an 'Active' checkbox on the top of the box. If 'Active' is checked ON the courtesy letter tab will appear in all appointments for this service line.
Customizable Sections:
The default copy is pulled into the appointment from the service line's setup.
- Patient Presentation: This is meant to give the doctor an understanding of the reason for this letter. (For travel, we have provided default copy that is dynamically generated to form a sentence which recaps the patient's travel itinerary for the doctor.)
- Action Plan: You can identify your plan of action.
- Comments: Anything else you would like to add or needs to be said.
To edit the default copy that flows into the appointment:
The new default copy will flow into new appointments, already booked appointments will not be affected.
> Go to the Setup menu > Service Line Setup > Click into any Service Line > Go to the Reports tab.
> Click the 'Edit Defaults' link beside Courtesy Letter.
> Edit the copy and save.
