Drug Database > Medical Directives
Medical Directives:
Under current regulations, sometimes a doctor is required to support your vaccination services if you do not have your own prescribing authority. This support requires medical directives. These medical directives are your roadmap for each drug and provide you the medical algorithms for you to follow to prescribe and/or inject.
How to access Medical Directives and Gain Authorization:
If you are setup and planning to use our medical directives, each user who plans to dispense will need to be individually authorized. If you are not authorized you will not be able to use the medical directive.
How it works:
Go to the Setup Menu > Drug Database > Click on the Drug Name > Go to the Medical Directive tab.
- 'Use Medical Directive' needs to be checked ON.
- Select the Medical Directive. (If you have your own Medical Directives, they can be added under the 'other' selection.)
- Click on the Medical Directive name to open the PDF. (We suggest you print these for your records and easy access.)
- If authorization is required, click 'Launch' and complete the authorization. If your name does not appear in the list it means you do not yet have permission. (Please send a request to info@HQ3.ca and we will be in touch.)
- Once you become authorized you are immediately able to use the medical directive. (You must be logged into HQ3 under your own account.)
(NOTE: If you wish to use your own doctor as a medical director, the training and procedures may vary but we can assist with prescription generation procedures and medical directives for their review and signature.)
